What exactly is the purpose of a landing page? A landing page can be anything on the Internet – it could be a sales page for a service, an e-commerce landing page, a registration page for a service or an ‘about us’ page. The important thing to remember is that landing pages are the doorway into your website, and you should always aim to give your visitors the ultimate reason to come back to your site. What is the purpose of a landing page?

Your landing pages are the doorway to your sales funnel. In my opinion, there are 2 key benefits to unbounce, unblock and supercharge your website. Unbounce is simply the process of getting someone who has shown interest in what you have to offer to opt-in to your list so that you can continue to build a relationship with them. Unblock, on the other hand, is the process of getting someone to unsubscribe from your list. This is achieved by offering something of value, either in the form of a free gift or some other valuable information, and then instructing them to let their friends know about it.

Once you have these two goals accomplished, you can then start working on your home page or your main web page and fill in whatever additional information you feel is necessary. When a visitor lands on one of your pages and clicks through, you will want to take this as a lead and convert this visitor into a customer. This can easily be done with an online form, a newsletter sign-up or an audio message. Of course, there are many more methods that can be used to get people to opt-in to your list, and the best way to find out what works best for your web page or website is to experiment. What is the purpose of the landing page in the first place?
