Landing pages are one-page websites where the entire sales pitch about the product or service you’re promoting is on one single landing page. Think of these like an online flyer for your offline business but you’ll be able to directly promote your product or service, get your prospect to subscribe to your email list, or even direct them straight to the sale page itself. These landing pages are the first point of contact for anyone who visits your website. And it’s also where you convert visitors into sales. In this article, I’m going to show you how to create a landing page that will make you and your website look great online.
When you’re just starting out with your online business, you should probably focus on free strategies like creating free apps and landing pages. Freebies like apps are very popular because people love to try new apps, and if you have a good enough opportunity for promotions (like I mentioned above, with an email list), you can have your app promoted and eventually make it free for everyone to download! As for landing pages, there are plenty of sites that will teach you how to create these and how to market them effectively, so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel here.
Now that you know what a landing page is, let’s put together a simple testing strategy. To test what your landing page looks like, you need to make two pages – one for people who visit your site with no intention of buying and one for people who may be interested in buying but are not yet ready to buy. Then, put together an offer for your landing page that’s related to either of those two pages. For instance, if you have a free app that gives away a gift when someone submits it to a survey, then you could put together a « survey » offer. It might be something like « enter your name in the Giveaway tab to win a $5 gift card ».
